I have been a CPA since 2012. I began working as a tax accountant for a regional CPA firm. Soon thereafter, I started my own practice, working with small business clients, entrepreneurs, and small not-for-profits (NFPs). I also began teaching financial accounting at a local community college. In 2010, I became a  lecturer at the University at Albany, teaching accounting and strategic management. You will find a list of all the courses I have taught in my Academic Resume. In 2016, I became the Director of Accounting Programs. I have published research on accounting education, entrepreneurship, and data analytics in accounting. In 2019, I created the first Data Analytics for Accounting course (BACC 419/519) for the University at Albany's Accounting program. I was the recipient of numerous awards for my teaching and research. A complete list of my published works and accounting-related teaching can be found in my Academic Resume. Since 2021, I have been the president of the Tech Valley Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). In that role, I organize monthly Continuous Professional Education (CPE) seminars for CPAs and other business professionals. In December 2025, I retired from the University, but I continue to work with small business owners and small NFPs, primarily as a  consultant.

My primary accounting interests currently focus on entrepreneurial support, small business advising, strategic management, data analytics, and consulting. Below, I provide a brief review of the basic services entrepreneurs and small business owners should consider.
